Two-stage water resources allocation negotiation model for transboundary rivers under scarcity

چکیده

In this article, the bankruptcy theory and bargaining games are used to construct a two-stage water resources allocation negotiation model (TSANM). A Nash-bargaining game is for initial allocation, followed by an adjustment stage which considers factors such as circumstances, satisfaction, risk, efficiency. The TSANM systematically multi-dimensional attributes of in process may likely increase participation riparian countries. proposed method applied allocate contested capital Tigris-Euphrates River. This gives Turkey, Syria, Iraq 30.00%, 22.00%, 48.00%, respectively, adjusted 24.98%, 21.30%, 53.72%. Through collective group negotiation, stability acceptability effectively improved, absolute egalitarianism utilitarianism both avoided, instead objectivity fairness emphasized process.

Weighted Bankruptcy Rules and Transboundary Water Resources Allocation

One significant problem of transboundary river basins causing various challenges and disputes throughout the world is that because of increasing water resource variability and consumption, the water demand often exceeds water availability. Hence, one of the main challenges in transboundary river basin management is how to allocate the available water among the riparian states equitably and reas...

Transboundary Water Resources Allocation under Various Parametric Conditions: the Case of the Euphrates & Tigris River Basin

The literature on transboundary water resources allocation modeling is still short on encompassing and analyzing complex geographic multiparty nature of basins. This study elaborates the Inter Temporal Euphrates and Tigris River Basin Model (ITETRBM), which is a linear programming based transboundary water resources allocation model maximizing net economic benefit from allocation of scarce wate...

A Stochastic Model for Water Resources Management

Irrigation water management is crucial for agricultural production and livelihood security in many regions and countries throughout the world. Over the past decades, controversial and conflictladen water-allocation issues among competing municipal, industrial and agricultural interests have raised increasing concerns. Particularly, growing population, varying natural conditions and shrinking wa...

On two-stage fuzzy random programming for water resources management

In this paper, a two-stage fuzzy random programming for a management problem in terms of water resources allocation having fuzzy random variable coefficients and decision vector of random variables is studied. The first results show the fact that a fuzzy pseudorandom optimal solution of a two-stage fuzzy random programming may be resolved into a two of pseudorandom optimal solutions of relative...
